Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he is ready to welcome the English legend to his club.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he would be happy to work with Wayne Rooney. Is a marriage between a City coach and a legend from the hated rival really possible?

Recently, Rooney, one of Manchester United’s icons, expressed his desire to work under Guardiola. The Catalan technician heard of these comments and was quick to respond.

Guardiola ready to welcome Rooney

“He can still come to our training center. He is more than welcome,” Guardiola said. “Wayne Rooney is one of the best English players of all time, so it’s nice to receive compliments from him.”

If Guardiola is in favor of the arrival of “Wazza”, it is not certain that this is also the case for Sky Blues fans. The latter have very bad memories of the Red Devils star, including the episode of the magnificent acrobatic flip achieved during a derby in 2011.
