EXCLUSIVE: Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land, The Staircase) is set as the female lead opposite Eric Bana in Netflix‘s limited series Untamed, from Warner Bros. Television and studio-based John Wells Productions.

Written by Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, Untamed is a character-driven mystery-thriller that follows Kyle Turner (Bana), a special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Turner on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past.

DeWitt will play Turner’s ex-wife Jill Bodwin, a former teacher and park counselor, who remarried a few years after their divorce. Despite the fracturing of their marriage, Jill and Turner maintain a strong bond, held together by events from their past.

In addition to Bana, DeWitt joins previously cast Sam Neill.

Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith serve as co-showrunners and executive produce alongside Bana, John Wells and Erin Jontow via John Wells Productions, Todd Black and Tony Shaw for Escape Artists Entertainment, Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions, and Cliff Roberts for Syndicate Entertainment. Warner Bros. Television is the studio.

DeWitt can currently be seen as Hughie’s mom, Daphne Campbell in Prime Video’s The Boys, which is airing its fourth season. She recently starred alongside Toni Collette and Colin Firth in Max’s The Staircase, based on the true-crime docuseries. DeWitt, whose film credits include La La Land and most recently The Estate, will next be seen in Yvonne Woods’ comedy Ramona at Midlife and in Parker Finn’s Paramount sequel Smile 2. She’s repped by CAA, MGMT Entertainment and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller et al.
