NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez says CM Punk is trying to get AJ Lee to return to the ring. She also shares her hope that she will get to face Lee someday.
Former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee retired from wrestling in 2015. Fans have been hoping to see her come back, but she has yet to return to the ring. Lee returned to wrestling through her work in Women of Wrestling, but she previously departed the promotion.
Speaking with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Roxanne Perez was asked whether she was trying to get CM Punk to convince AJ Lee, his wife, to return to the ring.
“Definitely, yeah,” Roxanne Perez said. “I try, but he tells me that he’s doing the same thing [laughs]. He’s trying to get her to come back. But I hope one day she decides to come back and have a match with me.”
