There have been several infamous incidents including Pizzagate, when an Arsenal player threw pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson, and a tunnel fracas between Keane and Vieira.

It was in that latter match where Cole, then at Arsenal, confronted Neville after the Gunners drew first blood in an epic clash that finished 4-2 to United at Highbury.

Vieira had scored the first goal of the match before Ryan Giggs netted an equaliser.

Dennis Bergkamp had restored Arsenal's lead before the Red Devils took charge as Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice and John O'Shea grabbed a goal late on.

The right-back has since recounted the event on popular podcast Sky Sports' Stick To Football with Keane, Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott and special guest Frank Lampard.

Speaking to Keane, Neville said: "Do you remember that tunnel game? Arsenal were so fired up before the game. Arsenal scored the first goal, we won in the end.

"Ashley Cole, I am literally sat next to Ash in the dressing room for England for six/seven/eight years.

"Ash comes up to me screaming in my face, 'You f!' after Arsenal score the first goal. Ashley Cole! The most placid, brilliant lad ain't he!

"Ash came screaming in my face I'm like 'what the f…'!

At this point, Keane had a classic response, replying in deadpan fashion: "You should have booted him."

The chat came about with all the players talking about the respective rivalries between the Premier League powerhouses at the time.

United were the dominant force in England at the time with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool nipping at their heels.

It led to some tasty encounters as Fergie batted off challengers to United's throne, with the Red Devils never going more than three years without a Premier League title under his reign.
