Manchester United legend Roy Keane didn’t hold back from laying a subtle dig at rivals Arsenal on Sunday during Sky Sports’ coverage of the weekend’s Premier League action.
The Reds recorded an important win over Aston Villa, courtesy of a late Scott McTominay goal. The players celebrated the goal with the away end, with limps everywhere to be seen.
Keane felt it was the right time to get a shot in at Arsenal, who have been criticised for over-celebrating in recent times.
“Yeah, [they’re good scenes]. Not over the top, is it? They are enjoying it; there is an edge to games,” Keane said, as per Manchester Evening News.
Arsenal were criticised for celebrations following their 3-1 win over Jurgen Klopp’s side sparked a week of debate. Gary Neville called them as ‘immature’ and suggesting that was the reason they won’t win the title this season.
United are now unbeaten in their last four games, with three of those matches ending in wins – which means we are showing much better form than what we did throughout the first half of the campaign. We know we cannot afford to drop points like we were doing, so it’s nice to see a bit of momentum building.
The celebrating wasn’t too much either, but it was fantastic to see the away end bouncing. It hasn’t looked like that enough this term.
