RRR Director SS Rajamouli and son SS Karthikeya survive a strong earthquake in Japan, latter shares scary experience, ‘I was just about to panic’

SS Rajamouli is without a doubt one of the most adored filmmakers, not just in south India but all over the country at present. The filmmaker recently flew to Japan for a special screening of his 2022 film RRR, which features Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead. While the filmmaker is receiving immense love, in an unfortunate turn of events, SS Rajamouli survived an earthquake with son SS Karthikeya in Japan.

As per reports, Japan was hit by an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.3. Taking to X, Karthikeya shared a picture of his smartwatch featuring the earthquake alert and shared the experience by tagging Shobu Yarlagadda and dad SS Rajamouli. He wrote, “Felt a freaking earthquake in Japan just now!!! Was on the 28th floor and slowly the ground started to move and took us a while to realise it was an earthquake. I was just about to panic but all the Japanese around did not budge as if it just started to rain!! Experience an earthquake box ticked.”

Only recently, Rajamouli shared about the warm welcome he received in Japan. The RRR director shared about an 83-year-old-fan, who presented him with origami of the film. “In Japan, they make origami cranes & gift them to their loved ones for good luck & health. This 83 yr old woman made 1000 of them to bless us because RRR made her happy. She just sent the gift and was waiting outside in the cold. Some gestures can never be repaid. Just grateful”. He also shared exciting update about his next with Mahesh Babu and RRR 2.

SS Rajamouli’s upcoming movies

The filmmaker is working with Mahesh Bbau for a project tentatively titled SSMB29. It marks the first collaboration between Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli. The film is touted to be a jungle adventure flick and is speculated to take place on a large scale.
