Paris Saint-Germain finally has its second signing of the summer. After signing Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov from FK Krasnodar, the Parisian club had targeted Benfica’s young talent, João Neves (19 years old), to strengthen its midfield. After long negotiations, the 19-year-old player will become a PSG player for the next five years. The president of the Lisbon club, Rui Costa, confirmed his departure to Paris this Friday evening.

“It’s sad to see João Neves leave us, he’s a great player and a great man, but we can’t reject an offer of 70 million euros from today. It’s simple, we can’t say no”he explained, in the mixed zone. João Neves will therefore cost the club from the French capital 60 million euros, which will come with bonuses of 10 million euros. At the same time, it is very likely that Renato Sanches will return to Benfica, in the form of a loan.
