Ryan Kobayashi, Father of Missing Woman Hannah Kobayashi, Found Dead in Los Angeles Parking Lot

Hannah Kobayashi‘s disappearance has a tragic update.

If you don’t know, the 30-year-old woman has been missing after traveling from Hawaii to Los Angeles on November 8. She was supposed to be heading to New York, but missed her connecting flight. She tried to rebook the flight, but stated it had been a “nightmare” trying to get to the New York area.

On November 11, the family states that she was seen at LAX Airport in Los Angeles, but they started receiving unusual texts from her phone on November 11.

She has not been seen since then, and search parties have been scouring the area looking for her.

In a tragic update, her father, Ryan Kobayashi, flew to Los Angeles to take part in the search efforts.

Ryan was found dead at the age of 58 in a parking lot in Los Angeles this weekend.

“He died of a broken heart,” Hannah‘s aunt Larie Pidgeon said (via People). “We’ve been searching tirelessly. I think it just became so overwhelming for him driving the streets, going to Skid Row and seeing where his daughter could possibly have ended up.”

Police shared that Ryan‘s death was an apparent suicide.

“The Kobayashi family endured a devastating tragedy today. After tirelessly searching throughout Los Angeles for 13 days, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, tragically took his own life. This loss has compounded the family’s suffering immeasurably,” the family added in a statement.
