WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman’s brainchild is ECW. It was the most hardcore version of professional wrestling. But unfortunately, it did not last long. A few years later, Vince McMahon and WWE decided to bring ECW back. However it did not see as much success as the original version did. One of the ECW Originals, The ‘Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac’ Sabu shared his thoughts on ECW’s second coming.

While speaking to Steve Fall of WrestlingNews.co, Sabu claimed that he was not much interested in the WWE version of ECW. It was nothing more than a payday for him. He was unhappy that the would not get him violent in any way.

“I didn’t have… I didn’t care either way other than it was a payday. You know? I was good to have a payday. But I knew it wasn’t going to be worth the sh*t. And it wasn’t. It was WWE with just different letters. No [never thought it was going to be the same as the original ECW]. Yeah, when at first I wanted to try, yeah. But they wouldn’t let me break a table when I wanted. They wanted to do their own spots. They said, someone else does those spots, I said, ‘I been doing those spots.’ And they said, ‘Not here you didn’t.’ And each night I’d get scolded by somebody for stepping on somebody’s toes which I…I… They would step on my toes you know?” Sabu said.

What is your take on the WWE version of ECW?
