Paris Saint-Germain is going through pain! This Sunday evening, the capital club qualified for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France thanks to its success in the penalty shootout against Racing Club de Lens (1-1 / 4-3 ap TAB).
Trailing on a goal from M’Bala Zola in the second period, the Parisians reacted directly to the score thanks to a fox goal from the areas by Gonçalo Ramos.
With this qualification, the Rouge et Bleu continue their adventure in the Coupe de France and will face National 3 team FC Espaly (January 14 or 15).
Opposite, the Racing Club de Lens bids farewell to the competition in its first match in the tournament.
A closed first act
It was the shock of these 32nd finals of the Coupe de France. From the start of the game, Luis Enrique’s men imposed their style of play but without success. The Lensois opted for a low block with a grouped defense which left little space for the Parisians.
Apart from a disallowed goal from Achraf Hakimi, the capital’s players never really knew how to find the gap within the opposing rearguard.
The teams let go after returning from the locker room
After a tactical first period, the two teams will show a different face after the break. The Lensois will let loose and make the Parisians tremble by opening the score. A few minutes after the hour mark M’Bala Nzola opened the scoring following a corner taken from the left to the right (1-0, 66th).
An opening score which will not cause doubt for too long for the Rouge et Bleu who will react very quickly thanks to Gonçalo Ramos who entered the game a few minutes earlier in place of Désiré gifted (1-1, 70th).
The end of the match is electric between the two teams who go blow for blow. But the fate of this match was ultimately decided during the penalty shootout. Parisian side Vitinha, Gonçalo Ramos, Dembélé and Barcola found the way to goal.
In the Lensois ranks, M’Bala Nzola and Andy Diouf lost their duel against Matvey Safonov. The Russian goalkeeper therefore sends his team to the next round of this Coupe de France.
