Coach of the Georgia national team, Willy Sagnol was present in Paris during the draw for the 2024-2025 Nations League. Only fourth in its Euro 2024 qualifying group (in the group of Spain and Scotland), Georgia is however competing in the play-offs for the European Nations Championship. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Georges Mikautadze and their teammates will face Luxembourg on March 21 in the semi-finals of the Final Four of Path C. The winner will receive that of Greece-Kazakhstan for a precious sesame offering a place in Group F of the ‘German Euro (with Turkey, Portugal and the Czech Republic).
In the League of Nations, Willy Sagnol’s Georgians have been promoted to League B and will have a tough time facing the Czech Republic, Albania and Ukraine next September, October and November.
