Sagnol unveils Kvaratskhelia

Coach of the Georgia national team, Willy Sagnol was present in Paris during the draw for the 2024-2025 Nations League. Questioned by French Football Weekly, the former right-back of the Blues spoke about the personality of his prodigy Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as well as the return of Georges Mikautadze to FC Metz.

Only fourth in its Euro 2024 qualifying group (in the group of Spain and Scotland), Georgia is however competing in the play-offs for the European Nations Championship. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Georges Mikautadze and their teammates will face Luxembourg on March 21 in the semi-finals of the Final Four of Path C. The winner will receive that of Greece-Kazakhstan for a precious sesame offering a place in Group F of the ‘German Euro (with Turkey, Portugal and the Czech Republic).

In the League of Nations, Willy Sagnol’s Georgians have been promoted to League B and will have a tough time facing the Czech Republic, Albania and Ukraine next September, October and November.
