EXCLUSIVE: Canada’s CBC has unveiled trailer and premiere date for Saint Pierre, the procedural set on a remote Atlantic island starring and created by Allan Hawco.
Saint Pierre follows Inspector Donny “Fitz” Fitzpatrick (Hawco). After digging too deeply into a local politician’s nefarious activity, he is exiled to work in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon – the French Territory nestled in the Atlantic Ocean. Fitz’s arrival disrupts the life of Deputy Chief Geneviève “Arch“ Archambault, a Parisian transplant who is in Saint-Pierre for her own intriguing reasons and is played by Joséphine Jobert (Death in Paradise). James Purefoy (Sex Education) rounds out main cast. In addition to Jobert, Hawco and Purefoy, the series includes Benz Antoine (Four Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’) as Marcus, Erika Prevost (The Boys) as Patty and Jean-Michel Le Gal (Take This Waltz, French Exit) as Renuf.
Trailer can be seen above and the series will launch on the Canadian national broadcaster on January 6 at 9 p.m. on CBC and CBC Gem.
The show reflects the current global penchant for procedurals. It was one of Fifth Season’s big sells at MIPCOM and made our list of Deadline Hot Ones.
Saint-Pierre is created by Hawco, Robina Lord-Stafford and Perry Chafe, with Hawco and Lord-Stafford as Showrunners. Hawco, Lord-Stafford and Chafe along with John Vatcher, Janine Squires and Erin Sullivan, serve as EPs. The pilot episode is directed and executive produced by TJ Scott, and additional episodes are directed by John Vatcher, Winnifred Jong and Vanessa Masui. The series is produced in association with Fifth Season, which is also handling global distribution on the show.
