Salman Khan firing incident: UP man books cab from actor’s Bandra residence to ‘pick up’ Lawrence Bishnoi; prank lands youth in jail

Last Sunday (April 14) morning two unidentified men opened fire at Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra’s Galaxy Apartments. The two accused – Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, were arrested within days in Bhuj and are currently being questioned by the Mumbai Police. While the investigation continues, Mumbai Police have now arrested a man from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for booking a cab under gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name from Khan’s residence to the Bandra police station.

For those who aren’t aware. Bishnoi has been pretty vocal about wanting to kill Salman. Post the firing at the Khan residence, Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, shared a statement on Facebook claiming responsibility for the shooting.

Youth arrested for prank booking cab for Lawrence Bishnoi

Now to the latest update – as per a recent ANI report, a 20-year-old youth from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad has been arrested for prank booking a cab to ‘pick up Lawrence Bishnoi’ and sending it to Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments residence. The youth, identified as Rohit Tyagi, reportedly booked a cab online in the gangster’s name from the actor’s Bandra house to the Bandra Police Station.

The news agency quoted a police official saying, “When the cab driver reached Galaxy Apartment at Salman Khan’s house and asked the watchman there about the booking, the watchman, who was stunned at first, immediately informed about the booking to the nearby Bandra Police Station.”

Their tweet about the same read, “Maharashtra | 20-year-old accused Rohit Tyagi from Ghaziabad, UP arrested. He had booked a car in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi from Galaxy Apartment, the house of actor Salman Khan, to Bandra Police Station. He has been sent to the custody of Bandra Police for two days: Mumbai Police” An India Today report added, “The cab driver had no idea the address he was given was Salman Khan’s residence and Lawrence Bishnoi is the name of a gangster.”

According to the news agency’s report, Mumbai police interrogated the cab driver and tracked the information about the person who booked the cab online. “The person who booked the cab turned out to be a 20-year-old student from Ghaziabad, identified as Rohit Tyagi. The accused had booked the cab in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as a prank.”

After the investigation, police registered a case against Tyagi and arrested him from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was then brought to Mumbai and presented before a court. He was then sent to the custody of Bandra Police for two days.
