Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin has dropped a major hint about her future plans in the wrestling world. After her unexpected departure from WWE, Irvin revealed that her announcing career was never her true passion, leaving many speculating about her next move.
In a surprising Instagram comment, Irvin opened up about her time in WWE, admitting, “I don’t like announcing. I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action, but I don’t love being an announcer.”
Irvin, who joined WWE in 2021 and became a fan favorite for her dynamic announcing style, revealed that her real ambitions included managing talent or taking on leadership roles. Unfortunately, those aspirations never aligned with the company’s vision for her.
When rumors surfaced about her exit being tied to her fiancé, Ricochet, who left WWE for AEW over the summer, Irvin shut them down, clarifying, “They wanted Rico to stay in the big leagues. I don’t know why everyone is pretending like he was always in great positions at WWE.” She also expressed gratitude for the fans, saying, “Thank you so much, I love WWE and I’m so proud and honored I got to share all the moments with fellow fans. Much love!”
Fast forward to January 4, 2025, at AEW Collision in Charlotte, North Carolina, where fans were treated to another surprise: JoJo Offerman stepping in as a ring announcer for a dark match. The moment sparked confusion among fans, with some mistakenly identifying JoJo as Samantha Irvin. Irvin addressed the mix-up on Twitter, posting, “’Im bout to kill it like never before 💯 🎙️,” and later clarifying, that fans confuse her with JoJo.
The real bombshell, however, came when a fan tweeted, “Plz become a Manager!!!! 🔥🔥🔥” and Irvin responded, “I will.” The comment has seemingly confirmed that Irvin has plans to step into the manager role she’s always dreamed of. While she didn’t elaborate further.
Whether Samantha Irvin pursues managing talent in AEW or another promotion, her journey in the wrestling world appears far from over. Her departure from WWE seems to have opened doors for her to chase her true ambitions, leaving fans intrigued about how she’ll shape her next chapter.
