Sami Zayn has had a remarkable year in WWE, solidifying his status as one of the company’s beloved babyfaces. Recently, he witnessed the return of The Rock on SmackDown, which led to some controversy surrounding a post he made about the situation involving The Rock and Cody Rhodes. It appears that Zayn eventually deleted the post due to backlash from fans.

During last week’s Friday Night SmackDown, The Rock made a much-anticipated return and confronted Roman Reigns. Prior to this, Cody Rhodes had made it clear that he would not challenge Reigns at WrestleMania 40, sparking intense online discussions. This level of discourse hadn’t been seen since the days of Daniel Bryan’s Yes Movement in 2013-2014, and it prompted Sami Zayn to share his thoughts on the matter, albeit controversially.

Zayn’s original post read, “I know that many people have many opinions about wrestling drama, and maybe I too would weigh in, if not for the fact that there are actual tragedies in the world happening daily that make wrestling drama seem largely unimportant.

He continued with a follow up tweet, “I realize many people use wrestling drama as an escape of sorts, and that’s fair enough. I’m glad I can play a part in that. This is really more of a ‘me’ problem.”

However, due to the strong reaction from fans who were eager to see Cody Rhodes in the WrestleMania 40 main event instead of The Rock, Sami Zayn eventually deleted the tweets.

Furthermore, WWE’s intentions behind Cody Rhodes relinquishing his WrestleMania 40 spot to The Rock have come to light. WWE also made edits to remove Cody Rhodes’ somber reaction during his segment with The Rock on Friday Night SmackDown. Fans are now left wondering what lies ahead for Cody Rhodes in the coming weeks.
