Sami Zayn will never be able to shake those El Generico accusations after this recent decision.
Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn was recently asked to pick out a match from WWE’s Vault for his birthday. Zayn unsurprisingly picked a match featuring the legendary luchador El Generico.
Despite most fans knowing that Zayn and El Generico are one and the same, the WWE Superstar does his best to maintain kayfabe that they are two separate people. In introducing this match, Zayn had the following to say regarding El Generico.
“I went deep, deep, deep into our video library for this one,” Sami Zayn said. “And it’s a match featuring a competitor that I’ve studied extensively in my career. I’ve been honored to have been compared to him many, many times over the years. There are definitely some stylistic similarities, a man called El Generico. And this is El Generico versus Samuray Del Sol.”
