Samuel Eto’o has reportedly been accused of making threats and match-fixing in a shocking dossier which has been sent to FIFA’s ethics committee.

The Athletic reports that Eto’o faces a long list of accusations against him in a file that has been sent to FIFA’s ethics committee. The current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation would have been involved in cases of match-fixing, dissemination of false information, threats, incitement to violence and “abuse of power”. Former Fecafoot vice-president Henry Njalla Quan Junior referred the matter to FIFA and is also being investigated by CAF. The African Football Federation has already confirmed that investigations are underway into allegations of “inappropriate conduct” against Eto’o. FIFA has already been asked to remove the former FC Barcelona star from his duties following a series of incidents.

Eto’o in serious danger

Njalla Quan Junior claims a match between his academy and Kumba City FC was fixed by Eto’o, describing the incident as ” the most scandalous… in the history of humanity”. The Cameroonian sachem is also accused of having ensured that a team belonging to a “ close associate », Valentine Nkwain, be promoted. Victoria United were effectively promoted after winning 11 of their last 17 matches of the season, despite losing four of the first seven.

The Athletic adds that relations between Njalla Quan Junior and Eto’o then deteriorated, which led the ex-striker to pay for sending a threatening message. It could be read: “I am a mafioso of this revolution and in this specific mafia we do not betray our leaders. I have protected the interests of our mission until now. However, if you make fun of me, be prepared to bear the weight of the circumstances.”

As a reminder, Samuel Eto’o was filmed delivering a brutal knee to a man’s face after the meeting between Brazil and South Korea during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Cameroonian was a regular at matches in the Middle East, but he was caught up in a fight after the match, an incident which was reported to the police.
