Samy Chouchane tracked in France

Having left France 4 years ago, Samy Chouchane (20 years old) has since progressed well at Brighton. A versatile midfielder capable of playing as a sentinel, a relay player or a notch higher, the right-hander continued his training on the other side of the Channel. Coming from Boulogne Billancourt like many French talents such as Manu Koné, Allan Saint-Maximin, Hatem Ben Arfa or the brothers Marcus and Khéphren Thuram, he thus made the choice to export himself to continue his progression. An interesting decision since he gained a lot of playing time with 33 matches played last season for 6 goals and 4 offerings with the Seagulls U21 team. He was also called up 5 times (4 times in the Europa League and 1 time in the Premier League) by Roberto De Zerbi in the first team during the last season. However, access to the first team is currently blocked for him in a sector where we find Carlos Baleba, Pascal Gross, Jack Hinshelwood, Billy Gilmour, Jakub Moder, James Milner, Julio Enciso or even the recruits Mats Wieffer and Malick Junior Yalcouyé. Even if he participated in the pre-season, the excess in this sector is not ideal for quickly acquiring playing time.

In this context, the one who still has two years (plus one optional) of contract with Brighton is forced to leave given the too many options available to the new coach Fabian Hürzeler. On the way out, he has several options for the rest of his career and in particular in France. Indeed, according to our information, a Ligue 2 club is interested in his profile as is Bristol City in the Championship. He also has contacts in Belgium (Eupen), Switzerland (Lucerne) and Spain (Eldense). Called up twice to the Tunisian selection, Samy Chouchane was an eighth-finalist in the last U20 World Cup with Tunisia. A competition for which he had also fully participated in the qualification of the Carthage Eagles.
