OM sports advisor Mehdi Benatia remains uncertain about his case with the LFP.

For making controversial remarks towards the referee of the OM match against OL, Mehdi Benatia found himself in the League’s crosshairs. His case was to be carefully studied by the League’s Disciplinary Committee, with possible sanctions at stake.

The commission in question met this Wednesday. It studied the offences committed last Sunday during the famous Olympico, but it refrained from deciding regarding the Franco-Moroccan. It will rule on this subject later, once it has heard the explanations of the main person concerned.

Benatia still has to wait

Leonardo Balerdi, the defender of the Marseille team, knows the extent of the punishment that was inflicted on him. It is minimal since he only receives the automatic suspension match. He will therefore return on the 7th day of the championship.

In addition, sanctions have been imposed on supporters. The MTP area in the north bend of the Vélodrome will be closed for a fixed match. The CU84 area in the south face will be closed for a fixed match plus two suspended sentences. Constraints that Marseille would certainly have done well without, even if the success achieved against its rival Lyon helps to make the pill easier to swallow.
