Marigold World Champion Sareee is urgently demanding for a title defense against Bozilla following their Dream Star Grand Prix encounter.
Marigold’s inaugural Dream Star Grand Prix officially concluded this past September 28th. Utami Hayashishita went on to win the tournament by defeating Mai Sakurai in a tough battle, earning her a future shot at Sareee’s belt. However, Sareee competed that same night against her former tag partner Bozilla. Unfortunately for the “Sun God”, Bozilla proved to be the tougher competitor that night, and this loss ultimately eliminated her from the Dream Star Grand Prix. Should she have beaten Bozilla, the tournament finals could have seen Utami Hayashishita and Sareee face off instead.
Sareee then spoke to Tokyo Sports a day after the loss. Despite the disappointment she had towards herself, she remains motivated seeing Bozilla emerge as a challenger. “Honestly, I’m a little excited. A strong opponent has appeared. There is someone I have to beat with this Marigold title. It may be selfish of me, but I want to have a title match with Bozilla right now for this belt,” she said.
Sareee and Bozilla previously teamed up in Marigold’s debut show “Fields Forever” back in May. There, they successfully defeated the duo of Giulia and Utami Hayashishita in the Korakuen Hall main event. The tag match was also Bozilla’s first match in Marigold and Japan as a whole.
As of the time of writing, there have been no confirmations of a future title match between Sareee and Bozilla. Utami Hayashishita also sets her eyes on the Marigold World Championship, though the match is yet to be formally announced as well.
