The Governor of the Saudi Arabia PIF has now flown into Newcastle.

Sky Sports report that Yasir Al-Rumayyan has headed to Tyneside accompanied by other senior Saudi Arabia PIF people.

The Newcastle United chairman accompanied by fellow NUFC Director Asmaa Rezeeq, as well as Jacobo Solis, another senior PIF figure.

Sky Sports saying that the senior Saudi Arabia PIF group have arrived to express their support for those running the club on a day to day basis.

Here’s hoping Yasir Al-Rumayyan has made the trip so he can in person announce plans for a massive stadium, either a significantly increased capacity at St James’ Park, or a brand new stadium just above the SJP site in the Leazes Park/Castle Leazes area.

Keith Downie of Sky Sports reporting – 1 September 2024:

‘Members of PIF, including Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Asma Rezeeq and Jacobo Solis will be in attendance at St. James Park today.

Understand NUFC Chairman Al-Rumayyan has been keen to express his support to everyone at the club in person.

This follows a difficult couple of months for the club, after the departure of Amanda Staveley and failure to add transfer targets.’
