According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Saudi Arabia was willing to pay well over $55m for the show. It is not clear how much was eventually spent to hold the show.
The show has a history. Check out what has happened at recent Royal Rumbles:
Opinion: The Saudi Arabian shows are not exactly popular with the fans but at the end of the day, the company is supposed to make as much money as they can. There is going to be some backlash, but ultimately, that money is going to take over a lot of that backlash.
