Saudi Arabia wants to buy another European big name

The last European club to pass under the Saudi flag, Newcastle could soon be imitated. According to newspaper information La Repubblica, the Saudi public investment fund would in fact turn towards Italy and AS Roma. The publication reports that the PIF is preparing to make an offer worth 900 million euros to buy the club owned by American billionaire Dan Friedkin, also owner of AS Cannes since last summer.

At the head of Roma since August 2020, the businessman would estimate his property at around 1 billion euros, specifies La Repubblica. Negotiations are said to be underway between the two parties and a Roman representative is said to be in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
