Wherever Jose Mourinho goes, there is always interest and despite being sacked from Roma, he still remains box office.

Ever since that infamous Chelsea press conference when he anointed himself as the ‘Special One,’ the game of football hasn’t been able to take their eyes off or turn away from the Portuguese.

It’s rumoured that wherever he’s been that the majority of his players love him, both for his attention to detail as well as the way in which he almost always defends his players in public.

Though things didn’t really go according to plan at Roma, his star isn’t shining any less brightly, but he is out of work since his sacking from the Serie A giant, so what happens next?

“Jose Mourinho is 100% open to a new chapter, for sure. He feels ready,” Fabrizio Romano said in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside.

“But my job is to tell everyone what’s going on right now, and Mourinho is not negotiating with any club at the moment, despite links with Al Shabab in the past few weeks.

“It’s still quiet, preparing for the summer as the Saudis could return, but let’s see what happens with European clubs before then.”

It’s an accepted fact that if money is Mourinho’s prime motivator, then moving to Saudi Arabia will be where he ends up.

However, he still has more than enough to give at the top level, and it’s that which may persuade him that the next few years of his career are still to be spent in Europe.

As a manager, he’s unlikely to come cheap, however, and that may be the stumbling block at this stage.
