IMG Credit: WWEThat’s a change. One of the biggest decisions in the history of WWE was moving towards a PG product which was more child friendly. This includes less swearing and more of a focus on safer and often comedic stories. However, in recent months, a shift has begun, at least among some of the bigger stars in the company. Now we know some more about where things are and where they are going to go.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE will be shifting away from the PG status, at least among its main eventers. This includes people like the Rock and Cody Rhodes, who have used more adult terms and words in their promos. It is not clear how this will be for the rest of the roster, as WWE does not want to worry its sponsors. This comes amid WWE wrestlers reportedly being unhappy with what is perceive as a double standard.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could make for quite the change in WWE but I’m interested in seeing how they balance this out. At the end of the day, there is a fine line between having everything go insane like it did back in the late 1990s and having everything be geared towards children. WWE could make it work, but they have to figure out a rather fine balance.
