School Spirits is becoming quite buzzy on Paramount+.
The first three episodes of Season 2, which launched on January 30, amassed 1.7M viewers in the first seven days of availability, according to internal data from Paramount Global.
That marks a 104% increase over the seven-day audience for the first three episodes of Season 1, the company says.
Third party data about the series’ performance is hard to come by, since it hasn’t appeared in Nielsen’s streaming Top 10. However, a triple-digit audience increase in the first week is a pretty significant boost.
Paramount also points to owned, domestic social post performance as an indicator of the show’s growing audience, as any posts regarding School Spirits published in the first seven days after the Season 2 debut have seen eight times the total engagement of Season 1 posts in that time frame.
Season 2 picks up from the shocking season one finale, following Maddie Nears (Peyton List) as she works to bring a doubting Simon (Kristian Ventura), her only connection to the living world, back on board to help her track down and collect her missing body. Throughout the season, Maddie Nears is still stuck in the afterlife with the knowledge of what happened to her and must unite her friends in the spectral and living worlds in order to reclaim her stolen life.
The series stars Peyton List as Maddie Nears, Kristian Ventura as Simon Elroy, Spencer MacPherson as Xavier Baxter, Kiara Pichardo as Nicole Herrera, Sarah Yarkin as Rhonda, Nick Pugliese as Charley, Rainbow Wedell as Claire Zomer, Josh Zuckerman as Mr. Martin and Milo Manheim as Wally Clark.
Produced by Awesomeness TV, School Spirits was created by Nate Trinrud & Megan Trinrud, who are executive producers on the series. Oliver Goldstick serves as showrunner and executive producer. Thomas Higgins is also an executive producer. List serves as a producer on the series.
