Scorpio Sky has explained why he’s been missing from AEW for so long.

The former TNT Champion hasn’t wrestled since October 2023. He wrestled Darius Martin on Ring of Honor, injuring his knee in the process. Before that, he had a year-long absence from the company due to a knee injury.

However, he wasn’t injured the entire time. Scorpio Sky spoke on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, explaining why he has been missing so long.

The former SCU member revealed that it’s been a combination of injury and bad luck, with his injury in 2022 only putting him out for a few weeks. However, Scorpio Sky had to wait his turn to be put back on TV.

“I guess I’ve been in and out over the last couple of years.” Scorpio Sky said. “Some of it has been due to injury, some of it due to bad luck. One thing I will say is there’s a narrative that I’m just this injury-prone guy who gets hurt, is gone for a long time, comes back, and gets hurt again. That’s actually not the case.”

“I’m actually glad I can address that. I did get hurt about two years ago, but I was okay within a couple of weeks. The problem is when you fall out of the rotation. We have so much talent that it’s hard to get back in. I always compare it to a Ferris wheel. You’re up at the top at one point, but you know you’re going to go down and have to wait your turn to get back up there.”

“So, I have had a couple of injuries over the last few years, but for the most part, I’ve been healthy for 80% of the time. [I’m not injured], I feel great right now.”
