Everton have received no new offers for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, manager Sean Dyche has confirmed.
Calvert-Lewin, who joined Everton from Sheffield United in 2016, is in the final year of his contract and has so far failed to reach agreement with the Merseyside club over fresh terms.
Newcastle failed to match Everton’s asking price for the 27-year-old after showing interest earlier this summer, but the Goodison hierarchy are braced for a possible late bid for the England centre-forward with Chelsea having reportedly added him to their wishlist.
When asked if new offers had been received for Calvert-Lewin, Dyche said: “No, we’re just carrying on as we always have done with Dom and all the other players, trying to stay open with our dialogue, that’s it.”
Everton are hoping to complete the loan signing of former Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala from Lyon, while Neal Maupay is expected to finalise his move to Marseille.
Dyche said the club could not rule out further activity before Friday’s 11pm transfer window deadline.
“We’ve been as active as we could be with the signings and trying to bring in players who can operate immediately and also grow into the club in the Premier League,” he said.
“That’s a big challenge. We want them to do that, and obviously the players that have been here before.
“I’m super-proud of everyone here and what they’ve given to the cause, that’s for sure, and that remains. They’ve given a lot over the last couple of seasons, the players who have been here.
“The added players coming in, we want them to get that feeling and attachment to the club and the same work ethic to go and deliver.”
Everton will bid for their first Premier League points of the season against Bournemouth at home on Saturday after 3-0 and 4-0 defeats to Brighton and Tottenham, respectively, in their opening two matches.
Dyche said: “It’s not just every game is a big game. People forget. I think last season we had one point after five games so it’s not new territory, unfortunately that is. We don’t design it like that I can assure you.”
