Manchester United are keen on signing the highly talented Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg.
According to a report from TBR Football, Manchester United are looking to bring in quality additions when the transfer window reopens in January and the 17-year-old is on the radar. However, they might have to wait until the end of the season to sign him.
The report states that Sunderland will not entertain any offers for the talented young midfielder midway through the season. The Black Cats are currently pushing for promotion to the Premier League, and they do not want to jeopardise their chances of securing a return to the top flight by selling a key player in January.
Meanwhile, the report further states that Chris Rigg is not pushing for a move away from Sunderland either and he is happy to stay until the end of the season. The midfielder is reportedly valued at around €30 million and he is on the radar of Arsenal and Liverpool as well. It will be interesting to see if any of the three English clubs decide to test Sunderland’s resolve with an offer in January.

Arsenal need more quality in the central midfield and the 17-year-old would be a superb long-term investment. He could develop into a key player for the Gunners with the right guidance. Similarly, Liverpool need more options in the middle of the park as well. The 17-year-old is highly rated in English football and he has a bright future ahead of himself. He could be the ideal long-term investment for the Reds.
The opportunity to play for clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool will be quite exciting for the young midfielder and a move could accelerate his development. It remains to be seen where he ends up.
