The Senator representing Adamawa Southern District, Senator Binos Yaroe, has empowered 60 women and 190 men who were trained on solar power technology in the Numan Local Government Area.
Arewa PUNCH gathered from the Red Chamber lawmaker that his move is in line with his renewed vision to make the people of his constituency economically self dependent.
While speaking during the distribution of the solar power system technology equipment on Saturday in Numan headquarters of the Numan LGA, the senator said his gesture was the best way to boost the country’s economy and to also make individuals self reliant.
He pointed out that the 250 people trained were expected to engage more than 10 people each when they start operating their workshops.
This, he said, will reduce the crisis of unemployment and raise the internally generated revenue of the state.
Binos, who explained his choice of solar power technology training, said it is because it is the leading business in the world which is desperately shying away from the high cost of generating electricity for businesses in the different countries across the world.
“Even if they are constructing phone charging points for people in remote areas, it is big money, with your solar system power, you don’t have business paying bills for electricity, and your business will move uninterrupted,” he said.
Senator Binos thus urged the beneficiaries to use the knowledge acquired at the training sessions and the equipment gifted to them to better their lives, while also pointing out that they can be better off with their businesses than those waiting for monthly salaries.
In his remarks, the technical team leader of the training, Engr. Ibrahim Taoreed said that “the 250 beneficiaries were trained not only on installation of the solar power technology but they can also repair when there is a mechanical fault.”
He noted further that the beneficiaries can equally train the new hands that they would engage and that the training will continue to expand as they keep engaging more people.
He pointed out that 28 beneficiaries were selected from each of the nine local governments that constituted the Adamawa southern senatorial district.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Amina Nasiru, who commended the senator for what she described as a life saving scheme, stated that with the knowledge she got during the training and with her working tools government job is now off her mind forever.
She advised other beneficiaries to see the gesture of the senator as God’s gift, and as such, they should take full advantage of the opportunity to change their lives positively and for the good of humanity.
