As Muslims around the world begin the observance of Ramadan, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has called on the Muslim Ummah to fully embrace the spirit of devotion, kindness, and reflection that defines this sacred month.

In a statement issued via his social media, Sen. Tambuwal described Ramadan as a period of divine mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal, urging the faithful to use the opportunity for self-purification, sincere repentance, and closeness to Allah (SWT).

“We are once again blessed to witness the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, a season of immense mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal. It is a time for deep reflection, sincere repentance, and drawing closer to Allah (SWT) through fasting, prayers, charity, and acts of kindness.”

Highlighting the current challenges facing Nigeria, he stressed the need for divine intervention, urging all Muslims to pray earnestly for peace, unity, security, and prosperity in the country.

“The challenges we face as a people require divine intervention. This is a moment to pray for peace, unity, security, and prosperity in our land. May Allah (SWT) ease the suffering of the less privileged, guide our leaders towards justice and fairness, and bless our nation with harmony and progress.”

He further emphasised the importance of charity and compassion, calling on Nigerians to extend love and support to those in need. He noted that the essence of Ramadan lies in selflessness and service to humanity, urging everyone to take advantage of this period to make a positive impact in their communities.

“I urge us all to embody the spirit of kindness, generosity, and compassion, particularly towards those in need. The essence of Ramadan is found in our willingness to support, uplift, and care for one another. Let us seize this opportunity to be a source of light and comfort in the lives of others.”

Sen. Tambuwal concluded by praying for Allah’s acceptance of the fasts, prayers, and good deeds of all Muslims while wishing the nation a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan.

“Ramadan Mubarak!” he declared.
