Senator Tambuwal Visits Shagari, Cautions Against Politicizing Insecurity

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal visited the Palace of the District Head of Shagari to condole with the community over recent banditry attacks and flooding.

Speaking, Senator Tambuwal urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts towards combating insecurity in Sokoto State and nationwide.

He emphasized that securing lives and properties should be the top priority for government at all levels, stating, “Insecurity is everybody’s business and should never be politicized.” He noted that even the current food shortage is a direct result of insecurity, adding that restoration of peace would lead to increased food availability.

Tambuwal, who was the immediate past Governor of Sokoto State, implored all stakeholders to join forces in tackling the insecurity plaguing the state, advocating a collective effort to nip the menace in the bud.

Regarding the Shagari Dam, Tambuwal promised to continue advocating for Federal Government’s intervention, as he had consistently done throughout his previous roles as Speaker of the House of Representatives and Governor. He assured the community that relief materials would be provided once NEMA completes its assessment of damaged houses and properties.

Accompanied by PDP leadership in Sokoto State, Tambuwal appealed to the Shagari people to support and cooperate with authorities and security agencies to restore peace in the area. He prayed to Almighty Allah to prevent the recurrence of such dastardly incidents.

Responding, the Wakilin Marafan Shagari, representing the District Head, expressed appreciation to the Senator for his solidarity with the people of Shagari during this challenging period.
