Sergio Rico is a miracle. The Spanish goalkeeper, who has reached the end of his contract with PSG, might have hoped for better consideration from the capital club.

At the end of the 2023-2024 financial year, Sergio Rico found himself free of any contract.

Paris Saint-Germain management did not want to extend his lease.. Considering that the goalkeeper was the victim of a very serious horse riding accident in May 2023, this decision does not seem really surprising.

However, the Spanish player appears to have felt bitterness about his treatment. “On the side of the

PSGwe didn’t get an answer. We decided to move forward and look for the future on our own to be at our best when the opportunity to embark on a new adventure presents itself,” said the 30-year-old goalkeeper during an interview with

Brand.

Sergio Rico assures to be back to his best level

Sergio Rico hopes to bounce back quickly. “I feel ready to compete again, he assures. I feel very good. I don’t think there is any aspect weaker than before. Everything is the same. The doctors say I am recovered. Once the aneurysm is 100% closed, there is no risk of reopening.”

Between 2019 and 2022, the Iberian international played 24 matches for PSG, in all competitions. In January 2021, when he had dropped to third place in the goalkeeping hierarchy, Rico was loaned for six months to RCD Mallorca without an option to buy.
