The clashes between Roma and Inter are not necessarily matches rich in goals. This evening, the two teams offered us a prolific encounter (2-4). The Stadio Olimpico in Rome is, however, an almost impregnable fortress this season (only one defeat at home). Facing Inter Milan and their offensive strength, the story is quite different. On this team, even the defenders can score. After a poorly cleared corner, Acerbi opened the scoring with a clever header (17th). The reaction was not long in coming, it was twofold. First with Mancini (28th), also with a header from close range. Then by the former AC Milan player, El Shaarawy, with a shot assisted by the bar before half-time (44th). All thanks to two assists from Pellegrini. At the break, the Romans were leading against the leaders. This was before the Thuram show.

The French striker is in great form at the moment. He has already allowed the equalizer by cutting off a cross from Darmian (49th). At 2-2 at the start of the second half, the Milanese could aim for more. Thuram, again, tried to be on the receiving end of a new cross coming from the left this time. It was not the Frenchman who scored the third goal but rather an own goal from Angelino (56th). The score did not move again until added time with a new goal from a defender, Bastoni (90th + 3). The Romans had not suffered a defeat at home for more than five months (1-2 defeat against AC Milan on September 1) and stopped their rise in the standings. The Giallorossi remain 5th and can be overtaken by their neighbors Lazio. For Inter Milan, after their victory against Juventus, they confirm against a new heavyweight in the championship. They are still 7 points ahead of the Bianconeri.
