Beaten by a short head by Bologna last weekend, a few days after having claimed the scalp of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Lazio of Rome was obliged to react to get back into European places against a Torino team which remained on a series of six games without defeat in the league.

At the Stadio Olimpico di Torino, we had to wait until the second half to see Lazio gain the upper hand over their opponent. If Mattéo Guendouzi opened the scoring on a serve from Luis Alberto (0-1, 51st), the latter did it again less than ten minutes later by offering the break point to Danilo Cataldi (0-2, 57th). Reduced in numbers following the expulsion of Mario Gila, the Roman club resisted the return of Torino to reconnect with the taste of victory and climb to 7th place, one point behind rival AS Roma. Opposite, Torino remains stuck in 10th place in the Serie A standings.
