Seth Meyers Dissects Joe Biden’s Ice Cream Moment

The moment that most stood out from President Joe Biden‘s visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers wasn’t the interview itself, but the visit afterward to an ice cream shop.

That’s where Biden, cone in hand, told reporters that he was hopeful of a ceasefire in the war in Gaza by the end of the weekend.

In a follow up segment on Wednesday, Meyers went through all of the coverage of the moment, which focused as much on the news that it made as the fact that the president was eating ice cream at the time. Pundits and hosts like Fox News’ Jesse Watters skewered the president for giving the Gaza update while eating mint chip.

“By the way, I agree: it’s not ideal to make serious announcements while eating ice cream.” Meyers said. “But he was already eating ice cream when they asked him the question. If the question has been ‘Do you like sprinkles?’ that would have been a [bleep] insane answer.”

Meyers then went on to show Donald Trump have his own ice cream moment.
