Shah Rukh Khan had a massive 2023 with his 3 releases shattering records at the box office. He has been bagging several awards for his stint in entertainment journey recently. This year, SRK alongside Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar hosted IFFA 2024. Shah Rukh Khan won the Best Actor award at IIFA 2024 for his performance in Jawan. During his acceptance speech, Shah Rukh revisited the ‘tough time’ he tackled while making Jawan, seemingly referring to Aryan Khan’s arrest.
Shah Rukh Khan on Aryan Khan arrest
During his speech, SRK averred, “I want to thank all other nominees – Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vikrant Massey – he was great in the film – Vicky Kaushal, Sunny Paji. I think all of them were great, but I got an edge because people were happy that I worked after so long.”
Heaping praise on wife Gauri, he asserts, “Somebody reminded me that money needs to be put into a film. So I want to thank Gauri (Khan). She may be the only wife who’s spending more on the husband than the other way around. We were going through a tough time while making Jawan (referring to the Aryan Khan case).”
When King Khan earlier spoke about his son’s arrest
Earlier this year when SRK got an award by News 18, even then he addresses the tough times. He had said, “The last 4-5 years have been a bit of a ride for me and my family. I’m sure for some of you also because of Covid. Most of my films flopped. On a personal level, a bit of bothersome and unpleasant things also happened to say the least, which made me learn a lesson. That be quiet, be very quiet and work hard with dignity. When you think everything is good, suddenly out of nowhere, life will come and hit you.”
Workwise, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki did a collective business of over Rs 2500 crore worldwide. The actor will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s King alongside daughter Suhana Khan. King Khan confirmed the film when he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.
