Shaitaan box office: Ajay Devgn starrer opens on a good note; beats Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior Day 1 collection

Shaitaan movie starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyotika has opened on a good note at the box office. The film was released on March 8 and its first day collection is over Rs 15 crore. Crossing the Rs 10 crore mark on Day 1, Shaitaan has collected Rs 15.21 crore at the box office. Directed by Vikas Bahl captivated the audience with its supernatural content which is a tricky subject anyway. People often don’t believe in such theories; however, Shaitaan managed to garner good numbers.

The Day 1 collection is in the range of Ajay Devgn’s previous film Drishyam which earned Rs 15.38 crore. Whereas Shaitaan has beaten the Day 1 collection of his other blockbuster movie, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior which earned Rs 15.10 crore at the box office. Nevertheless, a solid number is expected on day 2 since Friday was a partial holiday due to Mahashivratri.

Bollywood Bubble gave 3 stars to the movie. A part of the review read, “Shaitaan is a passable affair if you are intrigued by psychological thrillers. Even though it manages to induce goosebumps, the slow build-up of the narrative can come across as a hiccup. However, impressive performances by Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, R Madhavan make it a watch worth once.

Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan stars Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika, Janki Bodiwala, Anngad Raaj. The movie is about black and possession and fans have seemed to like this supernatural thriller.
