Nigerian music star Davido has disclosed that he’s interested in the ongoing Edo State gubernatorial election because his late mother was from the state.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) earlier reported that the singer publicly condemned the Police’s advice for voters to return home immediately after casting their ballots.

Recall, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Frank Mba, overseeing security in the ongoing Edo polls had urged the voters to go home immediately after casting their ballots.

He also announced a restriction on vehicular movement throughout the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day.

In response, the ‘Feel’ hitmaker via his X (formerly Twitter)account,  wrote, “Loooooooool go where ???”

In a subsequent post he added, “Bruh @inecnigeria fix up we can’t continue like this .. wtf

The response of the singer, who’s affiliated with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), caused a stir among many fans who were curious as to the reason he was involved with Edo Politics.

In response, Davido slammed the electoral body for not performing its duty properly, adding that Nigerians should be concerned too.

He wrote: “My mom is from Edo for those wondering why I’m interested in the election.. but we as Nigerians should be concerned sha.. @Inecnigeria shame on you i know how many times i had to come in here and rant before they got it right in. Osun! Its really bad. God help us.”
