In honor of NXT’s new era, the brand introduced new title belts.
WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels kicked off the October 1 episode of WWE NXT, which marked the show’s CW Network premiere. He noted that you couldn’t have a new NXT on a new network without new titles. Michaels then unveiled new NXT Championship titles.
Michaels said that NXT would make history that night.
Triple H then joined Michaels in the ring and asked Michaels if they were ready. This marked Triple H’s return to NXT.
Triple H built NXT into what it became before he was forced to step away due to a cardiac event in September 2021. Shawn Michaels then took over for Triple H. In July 2022, Triple H took over WWE creative following Vince McMahon’s retirement. He was later named WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
