Sheffield United have ended a dismal Premier League campaign with just 16 points and a record-equalling low goal difference.

Chris Wilder’s men lost 3-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday thanks to a stunning strike by Pedro Porro and two goals from Dejan Kulusevski.

That result saw the Yorkshire club finish the season with a goal difference of minus-69, which ties the record set by Derby County in 2007/08.

The Blades conceded 104 goals this season – which is a Premier League record – and only scored 35 at the other end.

Despite tying Derby’s dreadful goal-difference record, Sheffield United are not the worst team in Premier League history based on points won.

That title still belongs to Derby, who went down with just 11 points in 2008.
