EXCLUSIVE: Christopher McQuarrie has major change in his representation. He has left CAA, his longtime manager Ken Kamins at Key Creatives, and his attorney David Fox. I’m told he will be represented by Matt Galsor at Greenberg Glusker. He is the attorney for Tom Cruise, with whom McQuarrie has been a regular collaborator on the Mission: Impossible blockbuster films.

This is a shocker reverberating around town. It sounds like McQuarrie has a lot of his runway lit going into the future; among other things, he is producing the outer space movie that Cruise and director Doug Liman are planning with Universal, NASA and Space X. I understand there wasn’t a lot of drama here in the conveyance of the exit, but if McQuarrie has his dance card set, it certainly seems like he will be saving a lot of money in commissions. None of the parties were available to comment. I will add if that changes.

McQuarrie’s relationship with Kamins goes back longest. When Kamins left the top of ICM to start his management company, McQuarrie was one of his original clients. He joined CAA around the time that he scripted Valkyrie, the Cruise vehicle directed by Bryan Singer.
