Chelsea Football Club are evidently the gift that keeps on giving.

The Blues, for one way or another, have been the headline makers in most of the last few transfer windows, as well as results not being at a level that a club such as Chelsea would expect.

Many of the problems that have occurred over the past couple of seasons seem to be of the club’s own making and it would do the West Londoners a huge service if the owners took a look in the mirror.

Trevoh Chalobah challenged to sue Chelsea

One of the issues that appears to be prevalent even now is the way in which some first-team players are treated.

Financial Fair Play, and the fact that Chalobah’s status as a former academy player would mean Chelsea could put his sale down as pure profit on the balance sheet, is believed to be what’s behind the club’s stance, but one former Premier League CEO has gone as far as to suggest that the player might want to take legal action.

“It’s time for a player to test Chelsea,” Keith Wyness, ex-Everton CEO, said on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

“I know a few employment lawyers who would be keen to take that (Chalobah’s) case.

“Trevoh Chalobah is a very talented player, I tried to take him to Villa – and Chelsea could have done well with him in the teamBut he’s on the sidelines.

“There are so many others like him in the same position.

“If they are going to go down the route of constructive dismissal, that may be the wrong way to do it – but I’ll speak to a major employment lawyer and hear his view on the cases.”
