It’s his world. Retirements come in many forms in wrestling and you can get some rather odd situations when a wrestler is ready to hang up their boots for good. Some of them are build up over time while others come out of nowhere. In recent weeks, AEW has been promoting Sting’s retirement match at Revolution on March 3. This week on Dynamite, while not confirmed, it was teased that Sting and his regular partner Darby Allin would team up against the Young Bucks at Revolution. According to Fightful Select, Sting had a “major say” in choosing his final opponents. Sting had requested a tag match, saying he does not want to wrestle a singles match, which he has not yet done in AEW. The Bucks have been the planned opponents as of “a few weeks ago”. AEW is said to be willing to do whatever Sting wants in the match as it is seen as very important.
