EXCLUSIVE: Siena Agudong (Resident Evil), Luke Eisner (Tall Girl) and Noah Lomax (The Walking Dead) are among the newest additions to the cast of The Upside of Unrequited, the forthcoming coming-of-age comedy from filmmakers Anna-Elizabeth and Hillary Shakespeare, aka The Shakespeare Sisters.

Other newcomers to the cast include Patrick Luwis (Barbie) and Matthew Sato (Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.). As previously announced, Ayvan Williams Jessica Belkin and Savannah Smith will also star.

Based on the book of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Becky Albertalli, The Upside of Unrequited centers on Molly (Williams), an awkward teenager who feels left behind when her twin sister Cassie (Belkin) starts her first relationship with her dream girl Mina (Agudong). In an attempt to get closer to her sister again, Molly lets Cassie set her up with Mina’s best friend Will (Eisner). Molly goes along with it but she’s caught: the guy she really likes is Reid (Lomax), her cute awkward co-worker. Molly wishes she didn’t like him — just as Will takes her closer to Cassie’s new world, Reid seems to take her further from it.

The Shakespeare Sisters will produce alongside Matt Luber and Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin Entertainment, with Albertalli exec producing. Production kicks off in Maryland this summer.

Stated The Shakespeare Sisters, “We’re really excited to deliver on the romance of the story. Having spent two months carefully crafting the dynamic of this group with our casting director Emily Schweber, we’re so confident in the chemistry between this lovely cast!”

Previously, Agudong has been seen in Netflix’s Resident Evil series and F9: The Fast Saga, among other projects.

In addition to series like Grown-ish and The Goldbergs, Eisner has appeared in Netflix’s Tall Girl films.

Next to be seen in the thriller The Man in the White Van, which Relativity Media is releasing on October 11, Lomax has previously appeared in films like Secret Society of Second Born Royals, The Tale, 99 Homes and Safe Haven, also featuring on series like The Walking Dead.

Luwis has been seen in Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon films, Warner Bros’ Barbie, and Hulu’s The Dropout.

Sato starred on Disney+’s Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. and also boasts credits including High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Grown-ish, Saved by the Bell, and Blumhouse’s Imaginary.

Agudong is repped by AEFH, Gersh, Trilogy Talent, and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum; Eisner by Buchwald and Thruline Entertainment; Lomax by Gersh, Houghton Talent, and Circle Management + Production; Luwis by Clear Talent Group and Impact Artists Group; and Sato by AEFH and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
