IMG Credit: WWEJust for now. There are all kinds of people who comes together to make a wrestling show work and a good many of them have nothing to do with the actual wrestling. This often included the broadcasting team, who can go a long way in enhancing the show. It can be a big deal when a broadcasting team changes and that is what we will be seeing again starting next week.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Michael Cole announced that Pat McAfee will be taking a leave of absence from his WWE broadcasting role due to commitments to ESPN College Gameday. McAfee will return to the show in January following the football season. He had announced the move earlier in the day. Joe Tessitore is expected to take McAfee’s place, though this was not announced during the broadcast.

Opinion: This is something that we knew was coming but it doesn’t make things that much easier. McAfee is one of the more polarizing names in WWE but he is certainly someone who puts in the energy every time he is on camera. It is going to be difficult to follow what he did and it is going to take some time to really make things come together. We will likely be seeing that take place in the coming weeks but this had to happen to get the process starting.
