It’s fair to say that Simon Jordan isn’t a fan of Anthony Martial.

The former Crystal Palace owner and current talkSPORT host gave a damning verdict on the striker as his time at Old Trafford winds down.

Martial is on the sidelines again for the Red Devils with a groin injury, and his subsequent surgery is set to keep him out of action until April.

That would give the Frenchman barely a month to appear again before his contract expires.

The 28-year-old’s nine-season stay at Old Trafford will end in the summer after it became clear the club wouldn’t take up the option of a further year.

It marks a sorry end to his stay which began in 2015 when he joined from Monaco for £58million.

Summing up his stay, Jordan simply said: “I look at him as a complete and utter waste of time for Manchester United.”

With Martial’s return date set just before the end of the season, talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook thinks it might already be the end of the striker.

“I’m very dubious about whether we’ll ever see Anthony Martial in a Manchester United shirt again,” he explained.

“We told you two or three weeks ago that he has no intention of walking out on that big money contract because he knows he won’t get that money anywhere else.”

He added: “There have been fanciful links with Karim Benzema, I can tell you that definitely isn’t going to happen.

"In fact it’s unlikely that Manchester United make any significant signings this window despite the fact Martial’s absence does leave them short up front.
