Simone Biles gives sweet birthday shoutout to husband Jonathan Owens: ‘The calm to my storm’

Simone Biles posted a sweet birthday shoutout to her husband, Jonathan Owens, as she preps for the Olympics in Paris.

“thanks for being the calm to my storm! i love you with all my heart and I can’t wait to see what this year brings! let’s do it big baby💋😘✨.”

The Olympic gymnast concluded her post by saying she wished she was there to celebrate with the Chicago Bears star for his 29th birthday but will see him soon.

Owens commented under his wife’s post, writing, “I love you so much baby 🤞🏽 Can’t wait to celebrate with you ❤️.”

The post included a carousel of photos of the couple posing together in corresponding looks.

Biles, 27, wore a tan mini dress and platform heels, while the NFL star wore a white short-sleeve shirt, matching shorts and tan sneakers.

The couple — who tied the knot in April 2023 — are currently apart, as the gymnast prepares for the Paris Olympics and Owens is in training camp in Chicago.

The athletes recently overcame a tough time in their marriage after Owens faced public scrutiny for saying he was more of a “catch” than his wife during a December 2023 interview.

In April, Biles revealed she broke down after her husband’s interview went viral.

“He said he was a catch,” she exclaimed on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “Because he is! I’ve never met a man like him.”

The Olympian said she thought Owens’ interview went well until she saw everyone bashing the safety online.

“I thought it was hilarious at first and then it hurt my feelings,” she confessed. “One night I broke down and I’m like, ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband like this? You don’t know him. You don’t know who he is and if anybody’s met him, you know he’s the sweetest guy, will do anything for anybody.'”

Despite the drama, Biles and Owens have remained united.

The former Houston Texans player even got his wife’s initials tattooed on his ring finger.

He also was spotted supporting the four-time gold medalist during her Olympic trials last month.
