Jonathan Owens is one proud husband — after finally learning what his wife, Simone Biles, has accomplished.
The Chicago Bears safety supported the four-time Olympic gold medalist for the second day in a row on Sunday as she competed in the 2024 US Olympic Gymnastics team trials at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
In a moment captured by TV cameras, Owens, 28, could be seen jumping to his feet when Biles, 27, completed her impressive routine on the uneven bars. He also screamed and clapped after the decorated athlete finished her choreographed floor routine.
Biles locked in her slot on Team USA for the Paris Games following her performances. It will be her third Olympic team, who won the all-around with a score of 117.225 across both days.
Biles confirmed Owens would be in Paris to support her for a “short little time” before he has to return to training camp.
“I think it’s super exciting that we get to be in each other’s elements and supporting each other’s dreams and goals,” she said.

Biles admitted she “broke down” over the backlash because people were criticizing her husband. simonebiles/Instagram “That really hurt,” she said. “… For me, it’s like, talk about me all you want, but don’t come for my family.” Simone Biles/InstagramThe seven-time medalist eventually admitted that she “broke down” over the backlash Owens received following his comments.
“I thought it was hilarious at first and then it hurt my feelings,” she shared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “One night I broke down and I’m like, ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband like this? You don’t know him. You don’t know who he is and if anybody’s met him, you know he’s the sweetest guy, will do anything for anybody.’”
Biles continued, “That really hurt that they were talking about my husband like that. For me, it’s like, talk about me all you want, but don’t come for my family, never.”
