Simu Liu opened up about his future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The 35-year-old actor played the titular character in 2021′s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. After the movie premiered, there was talk of a sequel. However, Simu said that it had been pushed back in 2023. Updates have been sporadic at best since then. However, Simu answered some questions about the movie and a potential crossover appearance in another MCU movie while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Will there be a sequel? “They’re… We’re… Yes,” Simu said, jokingly continuing. “I understand the overwhelming fan enthusiasm and sentiment for the movie and characters and the sequels, and we’re so excited at the prospect of bringing that character back and using him more. And I love the character as well. And I love writing sequels in my head, and all the different storylines so I get it.” Jimmy also pointed out that Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton had been tapped to direct the new Spider-Man movie, starring Tom Holland.
